Church Security

church security

While the likelihood of a deadly shooting at a church has increased dramatically in the last ten years, there are many other types of threats to church-goers that are more likely and, often, more preventable such as protest, kidnapping, disruption of services and theft of property or private information. Churches cannot afford to ignore this reality.

Security should not be the main focus of any church but providing adequate security will help create an environment where people don’t fear violence and it does not hinder them from attending church.

What this presentation covers:

–     Having a plan that clearly defines procedures to handle a variety of situations.

–     Having a church security/safety team who are trained to deal with crisis situations.

–     Conducting a security assessment to identify any vulnerabilities in the church.

–     Working with your local law enforcement to provide training for staff.

To set up a time for a presentation at your church or if there are any questions, contact Major Wendell Cofer at 229-400-8002 or wcofer@decaturso.com.
